Couple who won £105million Euromillions jackpot, still living in their 3-bed terrace house 4 months later
At £105million, the pair won one of Britain’s biggest jackpots in November, and have finally decided that their dream house is a detached, four-bedroom house in Selsey, West Sussex, where they currently reside, estimated at a value of £120,000.
The couple met when Lenka met Steve while she was working at a campsite 17 years ago, tying the knot four years later.
A friend has said that:
“Their only priority was to get a bedroom for each of their kids.”
Since wining the £105million Euromillions jackpot, builder Steve Thomson, 42, and wife Lenka, 41, are still in their small home months later, where their two of their three children share a room.
friends of the family have said that the couple went to view an expensive property, one worth around £1million, but they thought it was “over the top” and are determined not to buy a “flash” home.
This news comes as Steve, also returned to work as a builder and bought a second-hand van with the money to help with his work.
Steve is now thought to have finally quit from his job, but only after completing work for all of the customers he was booked in for at the time of his win.
A neighbour of the couple said: ‘Steve and his wife are salt of the earth. I’m not shocked that Steve is continuing to finish off jobs he had on his books – that’s just the type of guy he is. He’d never leave anyone in the lurch.’
Another friend has said: “They’re looking for a new home but they say they don’t want anything too flash.”
“They’re such a down-to-earth family, real gems, and they could buy a palace if they wanted to but they have said they want to stay in Selsey.”
The couple have previously promised to help the local community with the winnings.
