A registered sex offender from Wisbech in Cambridgeshire has admitted a string of offences including stealing donations from a local homeless shelter.
The local homeless shelter 50 Back Packs For The Homeless was also heading the local response for supplying food and supplies to the vulnerable during the COVID-19 outbreak. He has also admitted to various other offences, stealing goods of more than £11,000 in value and was also charged with failure to comply with requirements of the sex offenders register by not registering as having no fixed address.
Jeffrey Burton 44, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Friday, April 3 on suspicion of involvement in a string of burglaries that occurred between March 25 and April 2. Burton aged 44, charged with four counts of non-dwelling burglary and two counts of theft by finding of lead from Ely House in Wisbech.

Burton’s rampage also included the burglary of D&S Store and two incidents at Boots in Wisbech.
Burton was Jailed for 28 days on February 3 for breaching sexual offences notification order and failing to comply with supervision requirements.
The burglary at 50 Back Packs (Vision) occurred on March 26 where over £170 cash and essential items including hand sanitiser were stolen. The £170 donations stolen were to be used to buy packaging to provide emergency supplies for elderly sheltering due to covid-19.
Burton also caused an estimated £1500 in damage to the homeless shelter, they were forced to close for the day and not be able to provide food for the local homeless due to the building being a crime scene.
