An enraged crowd of protesters gathered at the gates of Buckingham Palace appearing to chant “paedophile” repeatedly
It was reported that the protest started at 1.30pm on Saturday August the 22nd and involved the protesters marching towards Parliament Square as well as up to the gates of Buckingham Palace.
The Facebook post said: “The purpose of this walk for change is to bring awareness to the current reality of child exploitation within our own communities and around the world.”
“Let’s show our devotion and determination toward protecting these children, our communities most vulnerable, by requesting change and reformation within our government and law enforcement agencies to ensure that justice is brought in such a manner that it will significantly reduce instances of child exploitation while promoting awareness in order to end this ongoing issue.”
This comes after federal prosecutors in the United States have issued a formal request to Prince Andrew for an interview as part of their investigation into the now deceased convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein, prompting a frustrated response from the Duke of York’s legal team.
One protester wrote on Twitter: “I was there. It was a peaceful walk followed by a group meditation starting at the London Eye on to the Palace then to Downing Street.”
“Organised by ‘Freedom For The Children’ FB group for #EndChildTrafficking We had full police support.”
In footage of the protests shared to social media, some of the protesters appeared to be holding banners addressing the controversy surrounding Prince Andrew, Queen Elizabeth II’s son.
Some of the banners appear to condemn the Duke of York for his relationship with the deceased paedophile and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
Despite the public outrage over his friendship with the disgraced billionaire, Prince Andrew has strenuously denied any wrongdoing related to the man.
The Duke of York has continued to deny any involvement with the “abhorrent” activities of Jeffrey Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell through several statements that have been released by the Palace.
Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in July of 2019 on charges of federal sex trafficking and conspiracy related to the alleged abuse and sexual assault of hundreds of underage girls before.
This comes after German doctors who have been treating Russian opposition leader, Alexei Navalny, say tests indicate that he had been poisoned, Navalny is a known critic of Vladimir Putin.
Prince Andrew had earlier this year claimed that he was offering his support and help to US authorities.
Last year Prince Andrew addressed the Epstein scandal in a controversial interview with Emily Maitlis for BBC Newsnight.
The Duke of York underwent a 50-minute interview with Ms Maitlis in which he responded to a series of questions on his friendship with the disgraced, sex-trafficker billionaire.
The television programme sparked widespread public backlash toward the Prince both in the UK and abroad, which ultimately led to Andrew temporarily resigning from his royal public duties back in November 2019.
