Two adolescents who participated in a 13-hour rave on Saturday have tragically lost their lives in what is believed to be a drug-related incident.

The two 18-year-olds were present at SWG3, where renowned DJ Ben Hemsley was performing his set.

One of the individuals collapsed within the club premises and was swiftly transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Despite medical efforts, the individual passed away shortly after admission.

The second person was discovered at Croy railway station in Lanarkshire. They were promptly taken to the nearby University Hospital Monklands in Airdrie. Regrettably, their condition worsened, and they succumbed to the situation.

Law enforcement has confirmed that the families of these two young men have been notified, and an active investigation is in progress.

One of the avenues of inquiry suggests that the fatalities could be linked to drug usage. Authorities are diligently working to ascertain if the substances originated from a common batch.

The event on Saturday had reached full capacity and commenced at the Galvanisers Yard within the complex at 2 pm. Following DJ Hemsley’s performance until 10 pm, a subsequent after-party unfolded within the venue, featuring six additional DJs, and continued until 3 am.

“Emergency services attended and an 18-year-old was taken to University Hospital Monklands in Airdrie, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
