Beer, Cider and Cheese Drive-Thru Opening in Bristol

Bristol is welcoming a new beer, cider, and cheese drive-thru service to the city later this month.

The Cider Box was due to open a new taproom in the city before the start of the lockdown. However, it has since had to put a halt to the launch. Yet, in a bid to get things going for the company, they’ve decided to step things up a notch and offer a craft beer and cheese drive-thru.

The company is moving from its base in Shepton Mallet and is due to open on 16th May on Silverthorne Lane.

As reported by Bristol Live, The Cider Box is teaming up with a few partners too. Dan Heath, the owner, said, “We’re partnering with The Bristol Cheesemonger and Lost & Grounded Brewery to bring fantastic cheese from independent makers and fine craft beer, alongside a huge array of tasty ciders.

“For cider drinkers, there will be fresh varieties, rare one-offs, and exclusives from producers across Europe.

“Thirsty folk looking to stock up on cider, beer, and cheese from Bristol’s finest are invited to come down on 16th May and fill their boots.

“There will be exclusive offers and mouth-watering deals to enjoy too.”

Mr Heath hailed the venture ‘the world’s first’ and is eager to get things moving. He added, “all current guidelines and advice will be adhered to,” with this service, which is operating as an off license with no consumption allowed on the premises. Staff will be social distancing and wearing protective equipment at all times.”

The official Cider Box HQ is set to open in St Philips after the lockdown is lifted and is Bristol’s first cider taproom. Its setting will be in a Victorian archway, and the venue will have a ping-pong table and live DJs. It certainly worth a visit when the lockdown is over!

Bristol businesses diversifying during the pandemic

Bristol has seen its fair share of businesses taking different steps during the pandemic. There are several services providing delivery. Plus, you can even get a delicious steak delivered straight to your door from some of the city’s steakhouses.

An interactive map, created by former University of Bristol worker Ed Siebert, shows a range of independent businesses in the city that are delivering during the lockdown.

There’s everything from food and drink to health and wellbeing on the map.

Ed said: “We are facing unprecedented times, and we need to come together now more than ever.

“Since we have been working on this project, we have encountered so much love and community spirit, and that is what is going to keep us all going. “In a joint effort to both serve the needs of individuals and groups self-isolating and also to support independent businesses stay afloat, we have created an interactive Google map of all independent outlets delivering during this coronavirus outbreak.

“I wanted to make a map as I’m a very visual person, and I think seeing who is delivering in this format is the easiest way for people to navigate.”
