Gymnast escapes North Korea by ‘vaulting 12 foot border wall’

A gymnast from North Korea has sensationally vaulted over a 12ft barbed wire fence to reach freedom in the south according to reports

The border between the countries of North and South Korea, one of the most heavily guarded nation borders in the world, is also littered with over two million land-mines. The escape from the gymnast took place earlier this month on the 2nd of November.

According to the Chosun Ilibo, the man, who is in his late 20s, climbed an iron pole of which he used the height to the jump over the border fence into South Korea.

This comes after Kim Han-sol is the son of Kim Jong-un’s half brother Kim Jong-nam, who had allegedly been murdered at the orders of the north Korean dictator in 2017 using a nerve agent. It has been claimed that the currently exiled 25-year-old, who has been said to be living a life of luxury, is now in hiding after surrendering to American intelligence services.

The gymnast was then spotted “loitering” around a mile south of the border by South Korean military forces using a thermal observation camera.

Having been detained the North Korean man, who was wearing civilian clothes, requested political asylum. The man told authorities that he is a former gymnast which had helped aid in his escape.

Describing the escape to she stated: “My sister left on March the 26th and four days later my mum and I followed her.”

“After that my father, my aunt, everybody was beaten and tortured because we had disappeared.

“But because thankfully we were following a few days later we didn’t get tortured.

“The rest of the family were tortured because of our escape.”

Once in China Ms Park fell into the hands of people traffickers.

This comes after the UK and the European Union have imposed sanctions on several individuals and one organisation following the novichok poisoning of Alexei Navalny. Six members of Russian government, including the first deputy chief of staff to President Vladimir Putin, have been handed EU and UK travel bans and asset freezes.

If was only after several years of servitude she was able to escape, going first to Mongolia and then South Korea.

Describing her ordeal she said: “As soon as we got there in China the first thing I witnessed was my mum being raped in front of me.”

“They sold my mum for at least 65-75 dollars and they sold me for less than 300 dollars because I was a virgin. I was 13 and a half.”

“They sold me separately from my mum so I was separated from everybody. We were sold to a human trafficker and so many things happened.”
