Kanye West made the comment during a now-deleted Twitter tirade where he made a series of allegations about his reality star wife
Kanye West has claimed on Twitter that he has been trying to get a divorce from his wife, the reality-show star, Kim Kardashian West.
The 43-year-old rapper and musician made the comment during Twitter tirade that has now been deleted, where he made a series of allegations in tweets about his ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star wife.
In one tweet, he wrote: “I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf for ‘prison reform’.”
West appears to be referring to when his wife Kim and fellow rapper Meek Mill spoke at a summit on criminal justice reform based in Los Angeles in November of 2018.
This comes after the Labour Party apologises to a group of antisemitism whistleblowers and a journalist over “defamatory and false” allegations.
The posts for Mr West on Twitter were posted a few days after he gave what was billed as the first official speech of his 2020 presidential campaign.
The artist, who has four children with his wife Kim Kardashian, also appeared to be calling Kris Jenner, his mother-in-law, “Kris Jong-Un” and accused both her and his own wife of “white supremacy”.
Kanye repeated his claims that his wife, as well as his mother-in-law had “tried to fly in with two doctors” to have him admitted to hospital after his lengthy presidential campaign speech to a large audience in North Charleston, South Carolina that took place on Sunday.
The posts were deleted after around half an hour, with West signing off by tweeting: “Says the future president”.
The 21-time Grammy Award winner announced he was running for president earlier this month, and in his first rally on Sunday suggested a payment of a million dollars for everyone who has a baby if he wins.
He spoke about topics such as religion and international trade, and said abortion should be legal but financial incentives for struggling mothers could lower the demand for it.
West also tearfully referenced a decision he made with his wife Kim against aborting a pregnancy.
He cried when describing how he was nearly aborted by his parents, saying:
“There would have been no Kanye West, because my dad was too busy.”
He added: “I almost killed my daughter… even if my wife were to divorce me after this speech, she brought North into the world, even when I didn’t want to.”
West, a former supporter of US President Donald Trump, then asked: “I guess all black people supposed to vote on Biden? Y’all want me to run on nah???”
This comes after ministers reportedly “did not want to know” if Russia had meddled in the EU referendum vote, an MP says, as the government dismisses an investigation.
On Monday, Kanye West posted a series of supposedly manic tweets, which were also later deleted, claiming that Kim Kardashian West was trying to have him locked up on medical grounds. He also compared himself to Nelson Mandela.
A representative for Kim Kardashian West did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
She and West have been married since May 2014.
