UK won’t get update on lockdown until next week

The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster stated that any conclusion on the COVID-19 lockdown would be taken from the Cabinet after Boris Johnson was taken to intensive care last night.

Any conclusion reached by the prime ministers will be shown to the public next week, he added. The prime minister announced the United Kingdom lockdown on March 23, meaning that the government will have kept the country inside for at least three months — the time period initially supported by Mr Johnson — before committing an official update on the circumstance.

Currently, people living in Britain should only go out for essential shopping, 1 form of exercise per day, for medical reasons or for essential work which can’t be performed from home.

The nation was warned that lockdown measures could intensify after authorities complained that tens of thousands had ignored social distancing on Saturday.

A playground in Lambeth, London closed its gates after up to 3,000 people went out in huge groups, while over a hundred individuals sunbathed at Primrose Hill and a family in Newham hosted a party with 25 guests.

He explained: ‘I know that people are yearning to know how long that will last, the solution is entirely determined by how much men and women follow the rules.

Following the rules has become “mission-critical”. The more people follow the rules, the quicker we will be through it. By ignoring them, you are risking your life and the lives of others, and you are making it tougher for us all.

We know exercise is good for our physical and psychological health, but don’t bend or break this rule we can not rule out additional measures.’ He added:’We are not planning any changes to those rules imminently, but we do absolutely need people to follow them’ She explained: ‘The attempts all people are making to remain at home are working.

The growth in our hospitals isn’t as bad as if we hadn’t made these attempts.’ Having risen very steadily upward until April they’re now showing more complicated behaviour — but it’s too soon to see farther on in March.
